Say So

We have written a guide below on how to use Say So.

Say So is available to all employees of our client organisations.

Option 1

Reporting Online

(AVAILABLE 24/7/365)

Go to www.say-so.co.uk and click on ‘Access Sherlock’ or go direct to www.say-so.co.uk/sherlock/

To raise a concern please click on ‘Just raise a concern’ and follow the on-screen instructions. Please answer the questions as fully as you can (i.e. whenever describing events , conduct or issues, please include times/dates/locations and persons present)

You will be provided with 3 choices for recording your identity

1. Fully and openly identified (i.e. you consent to us sharing your id with your employer),

2. In Confidence to Say So only, or

3. Totally anonymous

You’ll also be asked to endorse your concern, acknowledging you are raising it in good faith and that the information you have provided is true to the best of your knowledge and finally, consent to Say So’s data management policy.

Upon completion of the form Sherlock will generate a username and pass-phrase for you. For anonymous users, this will be displayed on-screen and it’s really important to make a note of the username and pass-phrase provided to you upon submission of your concern in order to access feedback, updates and/or to add further information to your concern later.

When raising a concern, please provide as much detail as possible. Please include who was present, what happened, what was said and where evidence may be found to support what you are raising.

You may wish to register as a Say So user - just press ‘Register’ and follow instructions
By registering with Say So you will be provided with a username and passphrase for ongoing private and secure interaction with Say So. It helps you maintain your raised concerns in one place and we’ll be able to update you of progress of any concerns raised. Even when registered, you may still choose to raise a concern Anonymously, In confidence to Say So or Openly, where you consent to sharing your details with your employer- the choice is yours.

Option 2

REPORTING BY free to call TELEPHONE

0800 321 3546 (AVAILABLE MON-FRI 9am-5pm)

An experienced safeguarding professional will respond to your call, give you time to explain your concern and will take you through some questions so you’ll be able to describe, in as much relevant detail as you can, the issue you wish to raise. Please be prepared to provide dates/times/locations and persons present for incidents , conduct or issues that you raise, wherever possible.

You will then be taken through your identity recording options.

The same choices are available for you by telephone;

2. In Confidence to Say So only, or
3. Totally anonymous

To complete the call, you will be asked to endorse that you are making the report in good faith and that the information you have provided is true to the best of your knowledge.

In all cases, you will be provided with a username and pass-phrase. If anonymous It’s really important you make a note of the username and passphrase provided in order to access feedback, updates and/or to add further information to your concern later. If not anonymous these details will be emailed to you.

1) By visiting www.say-so.co.uk/ and clicking on ‘Access Sherlock’ (OR by going direct to www.say-so.co.uk/sherlock) you’ll be able to log in using your username and pass phrase (even if you reported anonymously) and gain access to on-screen feedback. In some instances, we may ask you for more information - if so, all you need to do is navigate to the appropriate field in your CONCERN and add the information required. If you can’t provide the information, please explain why - e.g. don’t know it, I didn’t see this, I’m worried I might be identified if I gave this information etc in the ‘response’ field. (Available 24/7/365)

2) By calling 0800 321 3546 you can speak direct to a safeguarding professional and provide your username and pass-phrase. The call-taker will relay the feedback or updates to you and where necessary will record any further information that you are able to provide. (Available Mon-Fri 9-5)
